I should have blogged about this earlier, but have not had any time, so I make one blog about the 3 movies I have seen.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
A rather nice movie, even if I expected more action. It is Harry´s fifth year at the Hogwarts and he fights against the return of Voldemort, teenage love, exams and and an obstruvtive Ministry of Magic. Harry Potter produces a Patronus charm when Dementors in an alley attack him and his cousin Dudley. Order of the Phoenix members soon arrive to escort Harry to their secret headquarters at Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place in London, where Harry joins the Weasley family, Hermione Granger, and Harry’s godfather Sirius Black. He learns that Voldemort is building an army and is attempting to retrieve a "weapon". Meanwhile, the Ministry of Magic charges Harry with performing underage magic. A few days later, Arthur Weasley escorts Harry to his hearing where he is cleared after testimony from Albus Dumbledore and Harry's Squib neighbour, Arabella Figg. Harry is initially disappointed that unlike Ron and Hermione, he has not been made a prefect. And from there the adventure start…
Cars
This movie I just loved. It had a message, that even children easily could understand. We saw this movie together, the whole family. The hotshot rookie race car Lightning McQueen is living life in the fast lane until he hits a detour on his way to the most important race of his life. Stranded in Radiator Springs, a forgotten town on the old Route 66, he meets a snazzy Porsche named Sally, the truck Mater, Doc Hudson and many more of the quirky characters who help him to discover that there´s more to life then trophies and fame.
Stardust
Another movie I just loved. Funny at times and a real Fantasy movie. The film is based on Neil Gaiman's novel of the same name, illustrated by Charles Vess, originally published by DC Comics, and stars an ensemble cast including Claire Danes, Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Charlie Cox, Sienna Miller, Rupert Everett, Nathaniel Parker, Peter O'Toole, David Kelly, and Mark Heap. Narration is by Sir Ian McKellen. Only this says a lot!
Tristan Thorne is the son of Dunstan Thorne and Una, a captive princess. The couple met only one night and fell in love instantly. Unfortunately, when Tristan was born, Una was not allowed to keep him and instead sent him to live with his father. She put in his basket a "Babylon candle", and a letter to Tristan explaining everything. The story then jumps to Tristan as a young man, in love with the prettiest girl in a small English town. He is desperate to bring her a newly fallen star by her birthday. He uses the candle to fly to where the star landed, which is not in England but a magical land called Stormhold. But then he discovers that the star is not what he expected. It is actually a beautiful, young and spirited woman named Yvaine. Despite this, Tristan is determined to marry Victoria and uses a silver chain that his father obtained after trying to free Una, to take Yvaine to England, promising to use the last of the magic candle to take her back to the sky afterwards. However, Tristan is not the only one seeking the star…
